Derwent Reservoir

Another accessible walk. This time from the North Dam car part at Derwent Reservoir to Pow Hill.

We started at the picnic area next to the North Dam car park. The weather wasn’t looking promising but we pushed on regardless.

I’d love to have a look inside there.

I don’t think the ducks were interested when they realised I didn’t have anything for them.

There’s really not much to see on the way round to Pow Hill but it’s still a nice walk.

A lone tree on the horizon

Are you a photographer if you don’t take photos of lone trees against the sky?

Rough looking stairs leading into the woods

This was a tricky climb with the wheelchair but it was worth it to do a loop round the woods.

Sometimes the best shots are taken from hard to reach places.

And we’re almost back to where we started. Just in time as well as the rain started as we were getting back in the car.

Derwent Reservoir is a nice place to go for a walk, just it’s a bit too big to expect to do a full loop, especially with wheelchair. This means that the walk will be out and back instead of a nice loop. We covered about 4.5 miles including a bit of an adventure through a very overgrown path that lead to some impassable stairs.
