Dragon Boats on the Tyne

Newcastle’s Dragon Boat race was being held on the Quayside and placements at from Ouseburn Farm had a rare chance to photograph an event. The weather was good so we grabbed some cameras and headed off on the short walk from the farm to the Quayside.

As we approached the Quayside we could see some activity in the water and hear the PA. From this distance we couldn’t make anything out though.

After a short but intense race it was over. However the race probably felt a lot longer for the rowers!

Regardless of the outcome of the race, everyone was in high spirits as the made their way back to the dock.

This was a great opportunity for the placements to do some event photography and these are just a few of the photos they took. It wasn’t just the rowers in high spirits as they headed back.
